A new addition to your family is a hard choice to make. Do we
have enough chaos already? Can we afford it? Is it the right time? But at the Wellington SPCA they know that it doesn't have to be that complicated! You can never go
wrong with a pet.
Firstly: Kids.
Kids love pets whatever age they are. Whether your pet will
love them back is another story. However at the end of the day a pet will
always come round to the kids. Even if it is a
love hate relationship.
Secondly: Its not a kid!
Depending on what pet you get they can be almost self-sufficient. Just a bit of food and a lot of love and affection and they’ll be a
loyal happy animal for you.
Thirdly: Exercise
Pets are a sure fire way to get exercise. Whether its
taking them for walks chasing them around the house or catching them after an
escape attempt, a pet will keep you active! Not only that but its keep the kids
active! Tire them out and make sure they get a good sleep.
Fourthly: Fun
Pets are fun! They play, they fight, they play-fight and best
of all they do silly but very funny things! Chasing their tail, having an odd
itch, being a little bit stupid are all funny things that a pet can do for you
and there are countless more. Each pet is individual and will have there own funny tendencies.
Lastly: Love
You cant go wrong with a pet for love. A pet can bring a
family together. For all the love and affection you give it, it will give it
right back to you. Even the most reluctant grumpy cat will show its family a
little love. Love is all they need!
Come to the Wellington SPCA open days! The SPCA do a lot for
animals in the community and their open days let you and your family come see
the prospective pets in person and will get you well on your way to adopting
another, more furry, member of the family!
